Thank you for exploring Fourth Church. I invite you to join us in celebrating the grace of God at any of the services below. We hope the info on this page and throughout this site will help you know what to expect as you visit and get to know our ministries that serve the church body, our community, and the world.
Grace and peace,
Dr. Todd M. Smedley
Sunday Worship Services
6:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary
What to Expect
At Sunday services, you will hear the reading of Old and New Testament Scriptures, congregational and choral singing, corporate prayers of confession and thanksgiving, and preaching from the Bible.
What to wear? You will see a range from dressy to casual. Our goal as we gather is to direct our gaze to our great God and make him the focus. All are welcome!
DIRECTIONS & PARKING
Fourth is located at 5500 River Road, Bethesda, Maryland, a five-minute drive east of the Capital Beltway (I-495). Visitor parking spaces are available in the Upper Parking Lot (entrance from Ridgefield Road). General parking is available in the church lots as well as the neighborhood.
Parking spaces are reserved in the Upper Parking Lot for those with accessibility needs. Wheelchair access to the building is provided through the Sanctuary ramp doors (adjacent to the Upper Parking Lot), the covered Upper Portico (drive through), and Lower Portico doors (both porticos are on the Ridgefield Road side of the building). Elevators are situated throughout the building.
WHERE TO FIND INFORMATION
If you are new to Fourth, visit a Welcome Table to connect with a greeter and get information on ministries and current activities. Bulletins are available as you enter along with Communion elements for services that include Communion.
FAMILIES IN WORSHIP
Nursery | For infants to age 2 | 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services
Parents, you can register your young children in the classrooms with their caregivers. Ushers will direct you to the appropriate rooms.
Children's Church | Children age 2.5 through 3rd grade | 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services
Check in your children at the Welcome Table in Halverson Hall before the worship service to receive a name tag. Before the sermon, the pastor will dismiss the children, and teachers will accompany them to their classrooms. All children must wear masks in the classroom. Parents, please pick up your children immediately after the service; ushers can direct you.
We treasure the presence of families with children in our worship services and hope your whole family is able to worship the Lord together. If you need to leave the service with your child, feel free to take them to our Family Room where you can continue to follow the service via livestream. You’ll find the Family Room out the back doors of the Sanctuary and to your right.
