Marriage: God’s Design
To those who are newly engaged or seriously contemplating marriage, “Congratulations!” God designed marriage to be a life-long blessing and that by it both man and woman would glorify him on the earth (Genesis 2:18-25). Under the New Covenant, that excelling love which the Lord Jesus Christ has for his church becomes the shape and pattern by which husbands adore their wives (Ephesians 5:25-32).
Fourth Presbyterian Church is committed to doing everything we can to help prepare you for a strong Christ-centered marriage and plan a wedding to the glory of God. To begin, please contact Sallie Holdrich, the Senior Pastor’s Executive Assistant, who will help you start the process and assist you in reserving the date on the church calendar if you desire to be married in the Fourth Presbyterian Church Sanctuary or Chapel.
Prior to reserving a date, please confirm the availability of the minister who will be officiating at your wedding. If you need assistance identifying a pastor, Sallie Holdrich can help you set up an appointment with a minister at Fourth to discuss your Christian testimony, wedding plans, officiant preference, and premarital counseling. Preparation options include a multi-week class, marriage mentoring, and pastoral premarital counseling. We look forward to pairing the proper resources to your needs as a couple.
