The Children’s Ministry of Fourth Presbyterian Church is committed to coming alongside families to provide a loving, nurturing atmosphere for children as they learn to know, love, and follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Ministry Purpose

We seek to:

• Lay a firm foundation of biblical knowledge
• Model Christ and his kingdom in all that we do and say
• Love and care for the children who attend our church
• Come alongside parents as support
• Provide opportunities for the children to serve others

Fall Classes

Parents, for all classes and nursery please check in your children at the computers at the Children’s Welcome Center on the first floor or the computers outside the Children’s Library.

Nursery

Sundays, during the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services, Infants, Toddlers, and 2 year olds
Classes are staffed by regular workers and volunteers who establish consistent and positive relationships with the children.

Preschool (Age 2 to 5)

Children who have turned 2 by September 1 are eligible to attend Sunday School and “Cherub Church” in the Fall.

Sunday School

Sundays, during the 9:30 a.m. service, Ages 2 to Pre-Kindergarten
Children journey through the Bible learning Bible stories and verses as they develop positive attitudes toward God, the church, and others. Face masks required.

Cherub Church

Sundays, during the 11:00 a.m. service, Ages 2 to Pre-Kindergarten
Children start out in their classrooms and are escorted by their teachers to Cherub Church where they sing songs, learn Catechism, and hear a lesson based on the Teach Me to Worship curriculum. They are escorted back to their classrooms for crafts and activities. Parents pick up their children in their classrooms after the service. Face masks required.

Kindergarten to 5th grade

Sunday School

Sundays, during the 9:30 a.m. service, Kindergarten to 5th grade
Elementary Sunday School classes follow a curriculum tailored to each grade level that develops Biblical knowledge and an understanding of God’s redemptive plan for his people. Children in elementary Sunday School classes also learn Catechism each week and memorize Scripture. Face masks required.

Children’s Church

Sundays, during the 11:00 a.m. service, Kindergarten to 3rd grade
Children start out in the service with their parents and are dismissed to Children’s Church before the sermon. The children are taught a lesson based on the Teach Me to Worship curriculum, sing a hymn of the month, learn Catechism, and enjoy small group activities. Parents pick up their children after the service. Face masks required.
