Preparing Fourth Church to Serve Future Generations

As we near the 200th Anniversary of Fourth in 2028, we are freshly reminded of the Lord's faithful, gracious provision for the gathering of his people. From the humble, wooden structure at 9th Street and Grant Place, N.W., in the District of Columbia, to Fourth Church Chapel at 13th and Fairmont, to our present building in Bethesda  — at each stage and in every generation — God has given the people of Fourth a heart to invest in the "greater progress of the gospel." —Philippians 1:12 (NASB)

The COVID-19 pandemic put a hold on Sanctuary Renewal plans announced at our 2020 Congregational Meeting, but in early 2021 the decision came to move forward with a modified plan. Town Hall Meetings were held over the summer to take questions and invite input.

Next Milestone:
12:30 P.M. • UPPER ROOM

Dr. Todd M. Smedley, the architectural firm, and committee representatives will share renderings, information on the fundraising campaign, and further details.

See below for the original letter about the resumption of the project from Rev. Corey Gray, Pastor of Administration.
