Children’s Ministry

Parents, please check in your children before classes at the computers at the Children’s Welcome Center on the first floor or the computers outside the Children’s Library on the second floor. Face masks are optional for Sunday School, Cherub Church, and Children’s Church.

Nursery | Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services, infants-2 years old.

Sunday School | Classes during the 9:30 a.m. service for age 2 through 5th grade.

Cherub Church | Sundays, 11:00 a.m. service, age 2 to pre-kindergarten. Children begin in their classroom and are escorted by their teachers to Cherub Church for singing and teaching. They are escorted back to their classrooms for crafts and activities. Parents, please pick up your children in their classroom after the service.

Children’s Church | Sundays, 11:00 a.m. service, kindergarten to 3rd grade. Before the sermon, children will be invited forward for prayer, dismissed through the side door, and accompanied by their teachers to Children’s Church. Parents, please pick up your children from their classroom immediately after the service. 

Catechism Recitation | Sunday, March 20, 11:00 a.m. During the 11:00 worship service, children, ages pre-K—5th grade, will recite the answers to children’s catechism questions 1-21 led by Carin Robinson at the front of the church. For more information, email Jean.

Easter Eggs for YoungLives | Together with Mission DMV ministry, we are providing Easter eggs filled with candy for YoungLives mothers to share with their children. For 10 minutes in Sunday School and Children’s Church, children will fill plastic eggs with candy, and we need donations of bags of individually wrapped candy over the next two weeks (no nuts, please). It will be a delight to see the children serving others.

Congregational Care

GriefShare | Thursdays, through June 2, online. Weekly support sessions for those grieving the loss of a loved one. To learn more and to register, see the GriefShare webpage at griefshare.org. For more information and the Zoom link, email griefshare@4thpres.org.

DivorceCare Support Group | Tuesdays, through April 5, 7:00 p.m., The Commons. This Bible-centered support group offers a non-judgmental place of hope and healing from the pain of separation or divorce. Everyone is welcome at any time, regardless of faith background or current marital status. To learn more and to register, see the DivorceCare webpage at divorcecare.org.

Blended Family Support Group | Thursday, March 17, 7:00 p.m., via Zoom. Adults in blended families meet for discussion and fellowship. Email blendedfamilies@4thpres.org for more information and the Zoom link.

Coffee Volunteers Needed

Coffee is available in Halverson Hall between services. Please join our team and volunteer to set up and prepare coffee during the morning services. Various shifts are available to serve each month.

Men’s Ministry

Online Proverbs Study | Mondays, 8:00 p.m., led by Steve Liston and Richard Morris, via Zoom. Men of all ages are welcome.

Men’s Missions Breakfast | Tuesday, March 29, 6:30 a.m., Upper Room. Men of all ages are invited to enjoy breakfast with our missionaries and guest speaker, Francis Husson of CRU France. Cost is $4. For more information, email mof@4thpres.org.

Missions & Outreach

Missions Conference | “God’s Providential Care for his People”, March 25-30. Come meet some of Fourth’s missionaries at various gatherings throughout the conference including the Missions Banquet on Friday night (registration ends March 21). On Sunday, missionaries will attend Sunday activities and Wednesday night there will be a virtual missions fair for adults. See the Missions webpage for information.

Special Blessings

Sunday School |  Class during the 11:00 a.m. service, through April 10, online. For all ages and parents, leaders guide the class through a 12-lesson unit on dependence from the seeJesus Bethesda series.

Young Women’s Fellowship | March 22, 5:00-6:00 p.m., online. Young women are invited to gather and build friendships through fun conversation, music, and games. For ages 21 and up.

Women’s Ministry

Bible Studies | A new spring Bible study begins the week of March 28 and continues through the week of May 9. We will study  I AM: Seven Powerful Claims of Christ. Groups will meet in person at church Wednesdays, 10:00-11:00 a.m., or via Zoom Wednesdays, 7:30-8:30 p.m., or Thursdays, 8:00-9:00 p.m. Contact Jean to let us know which group works best for you.

Women’s Cancer Support Group | Sunday, March 20, 12:20-2:00 p.m., Room 132. Come enjoy lunch with sharing and praying and a healthy dose of encouragement as we lean on Christ during this hard patch in life’s journey.

Young Adults

Young Marrieds Potluck with a Purpose | March 19, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Offsite. Come to our monthly gathering for couples in the early years of marriage where we discuss a variety of practical topics around the theme of thriving together in Christian marriage. Youth Ministry

Middle and High School Bible Studies | Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m., Room 102. Students in 6th-12th grade, join our weekly Wednesday night Bible studies. After fun and fellowship, we will divide by grade/gender and study the book of Exodus. Drop-off and pickup in the Lower Parking Lot.

Youth Parent Fellowship | Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m., The Commons. Come gather and discuss topical conversations and pray for our families and Youth Ministry.

Virginia Middle School Girl’s Bible Study | Wednesdays, through May 4, 6:30-8:00 p.m. Come study the book of Exodus while meeting at a church member’s home.

TIC-TAC Youth Discussion on Culture | Sunday, March 20, 5:00-6:00 p.m., Room 007. All 6th-12th graders and friends join us for  TIC-TAC (Truth In Culture-Truth And Culture) to explore culturally relevant issues from a Christian worldview, ask questions, share our faith, and pray together. We encourage students to stay and attend the 6:00 p.m. service together with youth leaders. Afterward, we take a walk to get ice cream. Drop-off and pickup at 8:00 p.m. in the Lower Parking Lot.
