Children’s Ministry

Parents, please check in your children before classes at the computers at the Children’s Welcome Center on the first floor or the computers outside the Children’s Library on the second floor. Face masks are optional for Sunday School, Cherub Church, and Children’s Church.

Nursery | Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services, infants-2 years old.

Sunday School | Classes during the 9:30 a.m. service for age 2 through 5th grade.

Cherub Church | Sundays, 11:00 a.m. service, age 2 to pre-kindergarten. Children begin in their classroom and are escorted by their teachers to Cherub Church for singing and teaching. They are escorted back to their classrooms for crafts and activities. Parents, please pick up your children in their classroom after the service.

Children’s Church | Sundays, 11:00 a.m. service, kindergarten to 3rd grade. Before the sermon, children will be invited forward for prayer, dismissed through the side door, and accompanied by their teachers to Children’s Church. Parents, please pick up your children from their classroom immediately after the service.

Congregational Care

Yarns for Hope | Saturday, March 12, 10:00 a.m., Room 111. Join us as we knit and crochet to create beautiful, useful items for several church-related ministries. For more information, email yarnsforhope@4thpres.org.

DivorceCare Support Group | Tuesdays, through April 5, 7:00 p.m., The Commons. This Bible-centered support group offers a non-judgmental place of hope and healing from the pain of separation or divorce. Men’s Ministry

Online Proverbs Study | Mondays, 8:00 p.m., led by Steve Liston and Richard Morris, via Zoom. Men of all ages are welcome.

Men’s Retreat | March 11-13, “Faithful Men in a Pagan World,” Sandy Cove Retreat Center, North East, MD, Dr. Robert Norris. Today is the final day to register online.

Men’s Missions Breakfast | Tuesday, March 29, 6:30 a.m., Upper Room. Men of all ages are invited to enjoy breakfast with our missionaries and guest speaker, Francis Husson of CRU France. Cost is $4. For more information, email mof@4thpres.org.

Mission DMV Opportunities

Drive-Through Collection & Food Drive | Saturday, March 12, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Upper Portico. Bring contributions of food, diapers, clothing, and household items in brown paper bags with handles. Pick up empty Easter Eggs to fill with one piece of candy and return filled eggs April 9 (at next Drive-Through Collection) or March 20, 27, or April 3 (in Halverson Hall). Donated items go to Fourth’s ministry partners and neighbors in the DMV.

Missions & Outreach

Missions Conference | “God’s Providential Care for his People”, March 25-30. Come meet some of Fourth’s missionaries at various gatherings throughout the conference including the Missions Banquet on Friday night. On Sunday, missionaries will attend Sunday activities and Wednesday night there will be a virtual missions fair for adults. See the Missions webpage for information.

Special Blessings

Sunday School |  Class during the 11:00 a.m. service, through April 10, online. For all ages and parents, leaders guide the class through a 12-lesson unit on dependence from the seeJesus Bethesda series.

Moms’ Support Group | March 11, 6:30-9:00 p.m., via Zoom. Moms meet once a month online for support, prayer, and encouragement and are currently discussing Sharing Love Abundantly in Special Needs Families by Gary Chapman and Jolene Philo.

Dads’ Support Group | March 12, 7:00-8:30 p.m., via Zoom. Dads meet once a month online for support, prayer, and encouragement and are currently discussing Sharing Love Abundantly in Special Needs Families by Gary Chapman and Jolene Philo.

Women’s Ministry

Bible Studies | A new spring Bible study begins the week of March 28 and continues through the week of May 9. We will study  I AM: Seven Powerful Claims of Christ. Groups will meet in person at church Wednesdays, 10:00-11:00 a.m., or via Zoom Wednesdays, 7:30-8:30 p.m., or Thursdays, 8:00-9:00 p.m. Contact Jean to let us know which group works best for you.

Youth Ministry

Middle and High School Bible Studies | Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m., Room 102. Students in 6th-12th grade, join our weekly Wednesday night Bible studies. After fun and fellowship, we will divide by grade/gender and study the book of Exodus. Drop-off and pickup in the Lower Parking Lot.

Youth Parent Fellowship | Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m., The Commons. Come gather and discuss topical conversations and pray for our families and Youth Ministry.

Virginia Middle School Girl’s Bible Study | Wednesdays, through May 4, 6:30-8:00 p.m. Come study the book of Exodus while meeting at a church member’s home.

Dinners for Youth Volunteer Leaders | Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. Help support our adult volunteers by providing dinner before they lead the Bible studies each week.

TIC-TAC Youth Discussion on Culture | Sunday, March 13, 5:00-6:00 p.m., Room 007. All 6th-12th graders and friends join us for this TIC-TAC (Truth In Culture-Truth And Culture) where Carin Robinson will lead a discussion on biblical principles in politics in the United States and around the world. We encourage students to stay and attend our 6:00 p.m. service together with youth leaders. Afterward, we take a walk to get ice cream. Drop-off and pickup at 8:00 p.m. in the Lower Parking Lot.
