Let’s Welcome the Class of 2022!

Our second class of fellows has arrived and will be introduced next Sunday, September 12, at all three worship services. Please look for them between services and greet them. For a more detailed description of each fellow, please visit the Fourth Fellows webpage.

Fourth Fellows Class of 2021-22 Program

At our Kickoff Retreat on the Chesapeake Bay, we shared personal testimonies, spent time in prayer, and reflected on intentional Christian community. God has worked in powerful ways in each person’s life to bring them to Fourth Church and the Fellows program.

A week in the life of a fellow includes working three days a week, volunteering both inside the church (with the youth) and outside the church (at Cornerstone School in Southeast DC), meeting with a Fourth church mentor, a weekly Roundtable Dinner together, and taking two seminary classes at Reformed Theological Seminary. There’s also time for meals with host families, fun with ‘fellow fellows’ and new friends during retreats and on weekends. Each program component has a purpose, whether it is exploring vocation, deepening faith, intentional community, or practical discipleship. Fourth Fellows is truly whole life discipleship, done by the whole church, and helps each fellow start well post-college. To stay in touch with what is happening throughout the Fellows year, you can follow on Instagram (@fourthfellows)  or join our email list email by emailing me (jredd@4thpres.org).

During our kickoff retreat, we reflected on the value of wisdom: “Blessed is the one who finds wisdom…nothing you desire can compare with her” (Proverbs 3:13-15). To live wisely is to skillfully choose God’s way in life’s varied circumstances. Fellows provides an opportunity to deepen wisdom in many areas of life, surrounded by a supportive Christian community. Please join us in praying that this would be a year of growth in wisdom and her fruits in the lives of each fellow and in the life of the church!
