Hymn Sing with Sandra McCracken and Tim Nicholson

Make plans to conclude August on a high note by joining in a unique evening led by singer-songwriter and hymn writer Sandra McCracken and her husband Tim Nicholson, Director of Music at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Nashville. We’ll sing time-tested classics as well as new hymns written by Sandra and accompanied by strings, piano, guitar, and organ.

The Hymn Sing takes the place of our 6:00 p.m. Evening Service and will be followed by fellowship and sweet treats from a dessert food truck.  All ages are welcome. No reservations required.

Sandra’s Bio

Sandra McCracken is a singer-songwriter and hymn writer from Nashville, Tennessee. A prolific recording artist, McCracken has produced 14 solo albums over two decades. Blending the old and new, Sandra has also shown a unique ability to recast sacred Scripture texts into theologically rich yet accessible songs. Her thoughtful lyrics and gospel melodies in songs like “We Will Feast In The House Of Zion,” “Steadfast”, and “Thy Mercy My God” have become staple anthems in churches across the U.S. As a published writer, she contributes a regular column in Christianity Today and is working on her first book. Her latest release, “Patient Kingdom”, is available now.

Tim’s Bio

Tim Nicholson serves as Director of Music at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Nashville, where he oversees Sunday music and liturgy, conducts the Covenant Chancel Choir and Covenant’s wider musical programs, and serves as director of the Covenant Conservatory. Tim holds qualifications from Armstrong University and Berklee College of Music. He has also pursued studies at the Debrecen Conservatory (Debrecen, Hungary) and Royal Holloway (London, England). He has served on faculty at several schools and other churches. His many other roles over the years include whitewater guide, textbook author, and freelance designer. Tim enjoys reading the Atlantic, Coldplay, jazz, MLB baseball, reading, international travel, and any chance to be outdoors. He and Sandra have three children, two dogs, and a parakeet.
