The Lord’s Day, August 1

Dear Fourth Church,

Our prelude for the morning service is an instrumental arrangement of “Be Still, My Soul”. Its lyrics, penned by Katharina von Schlegel over 270 years ago, speak comfort and strength to our souls as we prepare our hearts for worship this Lord’s Day.

Verse 2:

Be still, my soul! for God will undertake
to guide the future surely as the past.
Your hope, your confidence, let nothing shake;
all now mysterious shall be clear at last.
Be still, my soul! the waves and winds still know
the voice that calmed their fury long ago.

Two reminders:

  • You may give to the Annual Summer Staff Offering again this Sunday. Giving envelopes are available.
  • For those unable to attend any of the in-person meetings, we will hold a Virtual Town Hall regarding the Sanctuary Renewal project, next Sunday, August 8, at 11:00 a.m. Look for the Zoom link in the Midweek Update this Wednesday.

As always, if you are unable to attend services today, the 9:30 service is available by livestream. You can view the livestream or dial 855-217-0187 to listen by phone. Both methods are available in real time or later on demand.
