Adult Education

Children’s Ministry
Children’s Sunday School | Online lessons are available and sent via email weekly.
Children’s Church | Sundays, during the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services. Children age 2.5 through 3rd grade will be dismissed before the sermon and will be accompanied by their teachers to their classrooms and then escorted back to their parents during the closing hymn. Children must be checked in at the Welcome Table (9:30 in Halverson Hall, 11:00 by the Lower Parking Lot entrance) before worship to receive a name tag. All children must wear masks in the classroom.
Summer Reading Club | Children can sign up and pick up prizes during the month of July in the Children’s Library on Sundays, 10:30-11:00 a.m., and Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Preschool Story Time | Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. Join us at the Tent by the Upper Parking Lot for a Bible story, craft, and games.
Terrific Thursdays | July 8, 15, & 22, 9:30-11:00 a.m., Lower Parking Lot. Rising 1st-5th graders can join staff & volunteers for VBS-like games, activities, & Bible stories. Registration is required; there is no cost.

Congregational Care
Yarns for Hope | July 10, 10 a.m., Middle School Lounge. Come use your knitting and crocheting skills to create beautiful, useful items for several church-related ministries. We meet one Saturday each month and enjoy fun and fellowship while we’re working.

Deacons’ Offering
On behalf of the congregation, the Deacons of Fourth Church offer prayer and assistance for those in difficult circumstances. To support this scripturally mandated ministry, a Deacons’ Offering is scheduled to be collected at all morning services July 11. Give online to the Deacon Fund any time by clicking on the GIVE button at the top right of any page on Fourth’s website. If using a smartphone, click on the menu at top right to locate the GIVE button. Then, click the “Select Gift Fund” drop down list and choose the fund marked “Deacons.”
Media Center
Volunteer at the Checkout Desk | The Media Center is open Sundays, 9:00-11:00 a.m., and Mondays-Thursdays, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Please consider assisting with checkouts Sunday mornings.

SERVE Opportunities
Drive-Through Collection & Food Drive | Saturday, July 10, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Contribute large pots and pans, food, diapers, clothing (socks, underwear, shoes, and boots), and household items in brown paper bags with handles. Donated items go to Fourth’s ministry partners and neighbors in the DMV.

Women’s Ministry

Women’s Cancer Support Group | July 18, 2:30 p.m., online. Ladies who are recently diagnosed or under treatment or have recently concluded treatment are invited to an online meeting for prayer and encouraging conversation. Please contact Jean for meeting instructions.

Youth Ministry
Summer Camp Registration | Northbay Adventure Camp, North East, MD, July 25-29. Cost is $600, with a $200 deposit due at sign-up. All COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed and everyone must be COVID-19 tested before coming. Feel free to reach out with questions or to ask about scholarship opportunities. Register now.
Middle School Rock | Thursdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m., Lower Parking Lot. Rising 6th, 7th, & 8th graders join us for summer fun and games! Each week features a different theme and a special message. Friends are welcome and encouraged.
High School Root | Tuesdays, 7:00-9:00 p.m., Lower Parking Lot. All 9th-12th graders, bring your friends to join us for fun and friendship. Each week features a different theme and special message. Pickup at McDonald’s. Note: we will not meet July 13.
Mini Bike Trip to Harpers Ferry | July 13-15, $150, 9th-12th graders only. Bike 60 miles from the church to Harpers Ferry on paved paths/roads. We will then camp for two nights and return the same route. During our day off we will enjoy hiking and tubing on the Potomac River. Scholarships are available upon request.
Sunday Night Bible Study/Evening Service | 4:45 p.m. All 6th-12th grade students (and their friends) are invited to join us for weekly Bible Studies (divided by grade and gender) led by our Summer Staff. Afterward, students can attend the 6:00 p.m. Evening Service with their staffer and then hang out with friends and enjoy a cool treat from the dessert food truck waiting outside.
