1st Saturday of the month/10 am
A fun morning where women gather for needlework and fellowship and then donate their handmade items to various local ministries. Whether you’re an expert at working with yarn, or a knit/crochet newbie, this is a rewarding way to spend the first Saturday morning of each month with a lively and enthusiastic group of women. We can supply yarn, needles, and hooks, lots of ideas, designs/patterns, and instructions.
When you join this small but dedicated group of needlewomen, you have the satisfaction of creating lovely, useful things for various ministries. You might be making a baby blanket or a little sweater for the Rockville Pregnancy Center. You could be blessing other members of our church by creating sturdy dishcloths for the Deacon’s Thanksgiving Bags. Also in the local area, you can help us contribute helpful items to the Faith in Action monthly collections, directed by Pamela Roylance, especially at Christmastime.
Moving on to international efforts, you could knit warm hats and scarves for the children who are served by Romanian Christian Enterprises (RCE). We can use a lot of help with these because we’ve recently received a large amount of high-quality wool yarn, and we’d like to use it up so that the various people who travel to RCE, several times a year, can bring this practical evidence that people care for these needy kids. And the list goes on.
It’s exciting to see how much comfort, love, and joy can be spread through these creations, and we would be delighted to have you become one of us. Please join us in the Emmaus House sunroom at 10am-noon; our next meeting is July 1.

Each Sunday our worship is enhanced by Sanctuary flowers arranged by our own creative ladies, and on Monday the large arrangements are broken down and become beautiful smaller version delivered to area shut-ins. Help is always needed.
