The real work of grief recovery begins after the funeral.  You are not alone during this difficult time.  You will find help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend.  We provide a safe, comfortable place to meet weekly.  Each meeting consists of two elements:  a lecture and a discussion.  We are a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences.  There is never any pressure to talk.  Grief recovery is a long-term process for most people; experts say it can take two years or longer to grieve the loss of someone close.  The finality of death is hard to accept, and that is what this grief group is all about. Everyone processes the mourning of a loved one in slightly different ways.  You will be able to face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life.  This is a small group setting for those who have lost a loved one exploring relevant topics using a Christian video curriculum. If interested please register with Charlotte FitzGerald in the Congregational Care Office at or 301-320-3600 x 216.
